Bitpay, a cryptocurrency payments business located in Atlanta, said on Tuesday that Wix, an Israeli software startup, has enabled its Software as a Service (SaaS) e-commerce platform to take crypto-asset payments. Wix businesses will be able to accept 12 different cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, dogecoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, and stablecoins, thanks to the integration.
Wix, a worldwide SaaS platform founded in 2006 by Israeli software developers Nadav Abrahami, Avishai Abrahami, and Giora Kaplan, allows customers to create mobile and HTML5 websites without coding knowledge. Wix started on October 12 that it will be adopting Bitpay’s bitcoin payment processing infrastructure so that customers of the Wix e-commerce platform may pick it as a payment option.
Wix Merchant users may take Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and Ripple (XRP) in addition to five other stablecoins such as BUSD, DAI, GUSD, USDP, and USDC (in specific jurisdictions). Wix’s product offerings, such as the website builder, company management services, and web hosting, generate around $1 billion in sales, according to metrics.
Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP), the youth fashion and retail brand Pacsun, Shop.com, Dr. Luke’s music company Prescription Songs, the luxury hotel group The Kessler Collection, Verifone, the pet services platform Wag, the virtual cloud desktop startup Shells, the luxury fashion e-tailer Jomashop, and the leader in collector car, vintage and antique motorcycle, and road art, have all partnered with Bitpay in the last year.
According to the release, Wix merchants and their customers will be able to utilize the Bitpay service in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, and Brazil in the first round of the Wix rollout.
