New Cases Of Crypto Hacking Using Microsoft’ Renowned Email Services – Report.

In line with a recent ‘report‘ published by Vice’s Motherboard, Several cryptocurrency holders were affected by a recent ‘hack‘, as some hackers were able to steal their crypto assets using renowned Microsoft’ email services such as Outlook, Hotmail as well as MSN.

Explaining to his event, one alleged victim claimed on a ‘Dutch Tech Forum’  that he lost around over 1 Bitcoin [around $5,400 USD, at the reporting time], when hackers used his mail account to reset his password and then regain access to his Kraken exchange account earlier in March last year [on 31st March]. Moreover on the other hand. several other Reddit users have also ‘stated‘ similar experiences.

As per Microsoft, the initial breach happened ‘somewhat‘ in-between 1st Jan. and 28th March earlier this year. Although per others it’s ‘going‘ on for atleast, from the past 6 months or more. Hackers primarily reached user emails ‘via‘ a Microsoft support agent account.

Microsoft’ earlier mail statement to affected users ‘assured‘ them that the hackers might have accessed email data like contacts, “but not the content of any e-mails or attachments.”

However, two days later, some ‘reports‘ surfaced that hackers had indeed been able to read the email related content.

Microsoft on the another hand,  has yet to respond to the newest escalations of this security breach.

This news comes simply after a week when an independent Security Evaluators report on a ‘blockchain thief’ that stole millions of dollars in Ethereum [ETH] by guessing weak private keys of users.
