Leading cryptocurrency data analytics website CoinMarketCap & HOTBIT exchange suffered some kind of outage and went offline today.
Users started reporting problems at around 14:30 UTC today – the whole site, including price and exchange data feeds also as its news aggregator service, appear to be offline.
CoinMarketCap revealed data showing the website’s reaction time has slowed significantly within the past hour. The website added that it’s presently investigating the issue that has made the website “unstable.”
However, CoinMarketCap added that this outage doesn’t appear to be a malicious attack.
The spokesperson said it had been likely a technical hiccup from the newly-launched CoinMarketCap Earn – a platform for users to earn cryptocurrencies while reading about them on the web-site .
Earlier this year, CoinMarketCap was sold to Binance for a reported $400 Mln. It’s one among the foremost visited websites within the world consistent with SimilarWeb.
Possibly coincidentally, the web-site for cryptocurrency exchange HOTBIT has also temporarily offline – although a message on the website added that this is for server maintenance.
