Crypto.com Receives An EMI License In Malta.

Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com receives an EMI [Electronic Money Institution] license in Malta.

The Hong Kong-based exchange is among the very first cryptocurrency platform to receive an EMI license from the MFSA [Malta Financial Services Authority], consistent with an official announcement earlier on Thursday.

The license permits the exchange to offer payment cards and bank transfers within the Mediterranean country.

Crypto.com received a Class 3 VFA [Virtual Financial Assets] license earlier in May, having been granted preliminary approval earlier in November.

CEO Kris Marszalek added that Crypto.com looks forward to “securing licenses in every country we operate in.”

That is likely to be more complicated in other European nations compared with cryptocurrency-friendly Malta.
