Coincheck, one among the leading cryptocurrency exchanges operational within Japan, is expanding its push into non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, with its new collaboration with the developer of CryptoKitties.
In line with a recent official announcement, Coincheck has partnered with Dapper Labs, which developed one among the world’s renowned decentralized apps launched on the Ethereum blockchain.
Coincheck revealed that this new collaboration will bring NFTs to a mainstream Japanese audience by offering exposure to many of its users. Coincheck plans to integrate the CryptoKitties application into its upcoming NFT marketplace. The exchange is additionally considering implementing the Dapper Labs-founded Flow blockchain, which is predicted to launch by the end of this year.
As per an official announcement by Dapper Labs, Coincheck’s upcoming NFT are going to be listed “only the foremost reputable NFTs,” starting with CryptoKitties on the new Flow blockchain. Dapper Labs CBO and co-founder Mik Naayem revealed that the firm will also be working with Coincheck to introduce a variety of other applications like crypto art.
Within the mid-September of this year, Coincheck revealed its plans to line up its own NFT marketplace. The upcoming marketplace is going to be backed by a plugin from the blockchain startup EnjinCraft, which can make it playable in select Minecraft servers.
Also earlier in August this year, Coincheck revealed its plans to conduct an IEO on the Ethereum blockchain platform Palette. Palette supports NFT tokens for a number of purchases associated with Japanese manga comics, sports as well as music.
